How to watch, Revenge Best Served Chilled

Tonight, in just a little while, one of my favorite actresses and a still rising Cult Goddess, Monique Parent, will be part of a cast characters in a "wine-themed thriller".  How cool is that?

If you're like me, you really want to see this Lifetime film.  But, maybe you're also like me, and don't actually have Lifetime.  What to do in these financially tough times?

The article linked below will get you through it.

How to See "Revenge Best Served Chilled"

If you go for the seven day free trial, be sure to also check out "Killer Ambition", also featuring the wonderful Monique Parent.

And, in the end, if you still need more Monique, which everyone does, catch her wonderfully campy performance as a villain in my own "Jack vs Lanterns" on Tubi.tv

Watch the trailer on Cult Goddess Magazine's Facebook Page.

Shopping During Covid-19

Sorry, gang, missed some days.  Today I stumbled upon a new YouTube channel and she has some videos I think fit the current "flavor" of the blog.  This in particular is her shopping in Europe.  You can see how she dresses, two weeks of lockdown prep, and how she buys things for her neighbor.

Visit her channel or website to see more.

I actually found her while looking for videos on building Tee Pees, because , you know, I have time and too do that right now.  And logs.

Herb Garden

At times like this we realize how much we depend on outside sources for everything we use.  A garden is a good step toward self sufficiency.  Even just planting some herbs on your "own turf" is a start.

Monique Parent shows you how.

CGM Videos Coming At You Daily

As people's income drops during our isolation, many of us are being forced to give up certain "luxuries", like monthly subscriptions to premium streaming video.  One way to fend off the boredom with new content is follow some of your favorite celebrities who are working hard to bring  you videos, books and other content to help pass the time.

As close to "Daily" as possible, I will try to share some of that content here with you.

How many people will change their hair color to keep you entertained?

Keep checking back.
Share with your friends.
Share stuff with me that fits any of my three blogs (Cult Goddess, Production Diary, Movie Reviews)

Please include stuff that has it's own ads so the content producers can get paid.

Thanks.

How Does a Cult Goddess Audition?

If you follow Monique Parent's YouTube Channel, you've already seen this video.  If you don't, you really should.  The channel has expanded beyond the hair and make-up videos (although, they're still a large part of it), to an entire look at her life as an actress, YouTuber, spokesperson, dog and cat "mom" and a lot more.

For this particular audition Monique was asked to "sell" two items and each of those takes needed to be straight through with no edits or cuts.  Edits between the intro and between the two products were allowed.

For this particular audition, Monique was asked to share it as an unlisted video on YouTube, which she did.  The video sat for 3 years with zero views, meaning that after all that work, they had never gotten around to watching it.  Of course, she was a bit disappointed in this turn of events at the time, but upon reflection she realized that her not landing this particular position had led her down a path which improved her life in countless ways.  For this reason she decided to share the video publicly, along with the message that small set backs can often be for the better, even if it takes some time and perspective to see those positive changes.

You can read more about this audition by using the "Watch on YouTube" feature embedded in the video.

Note: These are NOT actual QVC products or prices.

From the original YouTube page:

"The products ARE real and can be found on Amazon if you are interested (please note that I (note: Monique Parent) am an Amazon affiliate and will earn a small commission if you choose to make a purchase using the link provided.)

Catching up on Jennifer Wenger aka Jennifer Van Dien

Some of you likely already know that CGM Alum Jennifer Wenger ( interviewed as  a Wonder Woman cosplayer and actress with Michelle Prenez ) has fulfilled our prophecy about her and risen up the ranks of Cult Goddessdom to full blown Mount Olympus Royalty.

She recently married her very own Prince Charming, Casper Van Dien, in a beautiful mountain wedding.  Mr. Van Dien has one of the wedding photos as his default on IMDB.

But, she has been up to more than changing her marital status.  Mrs. Van Dien has also been working on new movie and video roles that will entertain you, scare you and maybe blow your mind.

Always one to have fun, she participated in this musical sensation, "Deadpool The Musical 2".

A new trailer dropped last week for "Alpha Wolf", starring Casper Van Dien and Jennifer Wenger (Van Dien) and some other familiar faces.

If the video isn't showing as embedded use the link:

Quote from the post on Kelli Maroney's Facebook Page:

Maroney starred as Samantha Belmont in the 1984 #Horror classic Night of the Comet, a performance which partially inspired the character of Buffy Summers․ Join her at 9am Saturday for her panel "How to Build a Buffy: Joss Whedon's Secret Slayer Ingredient." Autographs and Photo Ops will also be available."

WhedonCon supports a good cause with a portion of the proceeds going to The Lupus Foundation of America and Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center .

It's Here! The Tremors Trailer for the Show That Never Was.

There has been talk of a new Tremors series for quite awhile now.  The movie has spawned several sequels, varying in quality, but all fun.  The one ingredient missing from every single sequel and the original Sci-Fi series, has always been Bacon.  No, not the salted meat, the Kevin.

Kevin Bacon starred in the first Tremors, never to return to the franchise, until now.  Except, if this series doesn't get picked up (SyFy apparently gave it a pass after the pilot was shot.)  will we ever see Bacon as Valentine McKee again?

For those who don't remember, Perfection was part of a T.V. series once before.  Back near the start of the Millenium "Tremors the Series" ran for a short 13 episode series.

The show itself wasn't "perfection", but it did what it could to develop the single note "Jaws under the sand" idea for television by branching out with some new monsters and new human protagonists.  The Tremors sequels did much the same thing, but it seemed to work better as movies.

Really though, the missing ingredient was Bacon.  "Everything is better with Bacon" applies to food and movies.

The news that the new show wasn't picked up has hit fans hard. There's still some hope that we'll get to see the pilot movie and a few fans are keeping a candle lit that Netflix or Amazon will pick up the show.  From the looks of the trailer we're missing out if we don't get to see the finished film.  It kept the humor, the jump scares and the suspense.

I love the homage to the original movie with the half buried car.  I'm not sure people get that the scene in "Lumber vs Jack" (still free for May) with the vines pulling the Jeep underground was partly to GRIM in the movie and partly a nod to "Tremors".

Watch the trailer for  yourself and lament our loss because a television executive didn't want to take a chance on another Graboid series.

Who do you want to see in "Threshold"?

"Promote Horror" brings us news today of "Threshold", a new Minotaur Movie.

I am a huge fan of the mythical beast and have yet to see a horror movie make good use of it.  The best designs in a fantasy movie for Minotaurs, in my opinion, were the ones in "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" trilogy.  Strong, true bull heads and hooves.  But as cool as they were, they weren't scary.  The sci-fi channel movies I saw with Minotaurs had no human traits.  So, that's really just a giant bull. No fun there.  My enjoyment of this movie will have a lot to do with how well the design of the beast translates to the screen.

I do like the way they plan to modernize it.  Sounds a bit like "Cube" with a monster in it.  Follow the link above for more information.

I didn't see any cast information, so I thought it gives an opportunity here to do a bit of fantasy casting.  Which cult goddesses would you like to see playing among the college students in peril?  Would Debbie Rochon make a good evil college President?  Or what about Monique Parent?

Will Someone Else Dig Up the Graboids?

Every so often another publication gets things so right, I pretty much just link to their story here.

I was super excited when I heard Kevin Bacon was involved with a new Tremors series for the SyFy Network.  I'm no super fan, but I love the films and they're often part of my October sci-fi monster viewing. The more I heard about plans for the series, the more excited I became to see it.

The original TV series was a bit forgettable though.  It had some cool concepts, but just didn't catch on, even with the Tremors broader fan base.

The idea of trying it again all these years later, however, seemed right.  I think PopHorror may have gotten it right though, that "Ash vs Evil Dead" has made networks a bit gun shy of investing a lot of resources into older titles that fans seem happy enough to pirate rather than pay to see.

Here is their take on the death (or at least lack of birth) of the new Tremors series.

https://www.pophorror.com/kevin-bacon-tremors-series/

I do sincerely hope that we at least get to see the pilot movie somewhere.

Help Seal the Rift

I haven't used this space to announce a crowd funding campaign in quite awhile, but this is a project for a friend and colleague of mine, Anjanette Clewis.  Anjanette is very supportive of indie filmmakers and so I think she earns a bit of support in return.

From the Indiegogo Page: "Parrish Randall and Anjanette Clewis play the venomously estranged married couple Roger & Melanthe in the feature flick, Rift.  Their characters battle like the "War of the Roses" on acid."

The fundraising: "The Rift" needs completion funds. In general this means that movie has been shot, but now needs some money to get edited. Any of you who been following the long road to complete "Jack vs Lanterns" probably know that a lack of funds to commit to the movie has slowed down its progress considerably. It has also forced me to cut scenes and change the way I had planned to carry out certain special F/X. These are not problems confined to independent movies.

If you would like to help, financially or by spreading the word, please visit "The Rift" Indiegogo page for more details, to see what perks they have and to get links to donate or spread the word.
